The Dos Pueblos Invitational, one of the longest running high school boys volleyball tournaments in the country, returns for its 49th edition on Saturday at the UC Santa Barbara Thunderdome.

Twenty-eight teams are entered in the day-long competition, including local teams Santa Barbara High, San Marcos, Bishop Diego and the host Chargers.

The teams are divided into four seven-team pools. Pool play begins at 8 a.m. followed by the Gold and Silver Division playoffs at around 3 p.m.

Among the top teams entered are Burroughs of Burbank, Palisades Charter, San Juan Hills, Camarillo, Valencia and San Luis Obispo.

San Marcos is the defending champion.

Here is the breakdown of the DPI pools:

Pool 1: Dos Pueblos, Newbury Park, St. Francis, Lancaster.

Pool 2: San Juan Hills, Camarillo, Granada Hills, Arroyo Grande

Pool 3: Santa Barbara, Canyon, Pacifica Christian, Sunny Hills

Pool 4: Burroughs, Palisades Charter, La Cañada, Village Christian

Pool 5: San Marcos, Malibu, Crossroads, Hart

Pool 6: Bishop Diego, San Luis Obispo, Royal, Saugus

Pool 7: Valencia, Santa Monica, Capo Valley Christian, Oak Park
