Community members, advocates, and families will come together for the 4th Annual Walk & Roll for Inclusion Awareness, promoting accessibility, equity, and inclusion for people with disabilities, 9:30 a.m.-noon Saturday, March 28 at Allan Hancock College, 800 S. College Drive Santa Maria.

Participants of all abilities are invited to walk, roll, and move together in support of a more inclusive community.

The event is designed not only as a celebration, but also as a call to action to remove barriers and increase access to jobs and community resources for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout Santa Barbara County, organizers said.

Participants will enjoy local food trucks; opportunities to meet with advocacy organizations; and a fully accessible one-mile walk-and-roll route where individuals using wheelchairs, scooters, and other mobility aids can participate alongside walkers.

“The event brings people of all ages and abilities together in a powerful show of unity and community pride,” organizers said.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Momentum WORK, Inc. and its programs, with a focus on expanding digital literacy training. The initiative helps people with disabilities gain access to the internet and essential digital tools so they can apply for jobs, access services, and navigate today’s digital world with greater confidence and independence.

“Walk & Roll for Inclusion strengthens our entire community,” said Paul Katan, executive director for Momentum WORK, Inc. “When we remove barriers, we create a place where people of all abilities can participate, contribute, and thrive together.”
