Carpinteria High girls water polo dominated a Citrus Coast League matchup against Fillmore by a score of 14-3 on Thursday.
Despite resting many of their starters, the Warriors found no trouble getting the job done on both ends of the pool.
It started early for Carpinteria, who took a commanding 6-0 lead after the first quarter and a 10-0 advantage at halftime.
From there, the Warriors outscored Fillmore 4-3 and held on for the lopsided victory.
“The Warrior defense was stout as they anticipated well and put pressure on Fillmore’s shooters,” Carpinteria coach Jon Otsuki said.
“On the other side of the pool, the Warriors utilized their speed and conditioning, getting inside position on Fillmore’s defense to attack the goal for high-percentage shots.
“It was a good win… it provided a great opportunity for reserve and roll players to get quality minutes.”
The senior duo of Ruby Cluderay and Sara Fakinos led the team in scoring with four and three goals, respectively. In the cage, freshman Kathryn Caskey registered 10 saves.
The Warriors (9-4, 3-1 CCL) will compete in the Buena Friendlies Tournament this weekend.

The Dons put together a great offensive performance of their own in a Channel League win on Thursday.
Tatum Dougherty, Stella Gray and Addie Sweeney each had three goals in the win while Rose Nelley and Alison Ruiz Lopez rounded out the scoring.
Nelley also chipped in five assists while Kana Wolf registered three saves in one half.
