The Santa Barbara 805 Water Polo Club captured one gold medal and two silvers in the Championship Divisions at the USA Water Polo Junior Olympics last week in the Bay Area.
The 805 Girls 14-Under A Team won the national title with a 9-7 victory over Newport Beach Blue at Stanford’s Avery Stadium. The Santa Barbara club’s 16U A and 18U B teams finished as runners-up.

Goalie Reagan Mack was honored as the MVP of the 14U Championship Division. The seven goals in the final were the most she allowed in any game in the tournament. She had one shutout and two games where she allowed one goal. In the semifinals. 805 beat the Patriot Water Polo Club of Irvine, 9-1.
The members of the 14U A Team are Mia Johnson, Eleanor Grube, Jade Pattison, Talia Marshall, McKenna Stuart, Juliana Horton, Siena Noble, Josephine Drabik, Grace Goldberg and Reagan Mack.
In the 16U Championship final, 805’s 16A Team fell to Regency WPC of Orange County, 10-8.

The 805 squad advanced to the final behind the clutch play of goalie Megan Garner. She came up with a big stop in a penalty shootout against SOCAL, leading the team to a 5-3 victory in the semifinals.
The team members are Makena Bygrave, Bethany King, Sophie Yonker, Jade Pattison, Charlotte Raisin, Mia Faros, Celia Young, Ivan Malenkovic, Nicole O’Neill, Aaliyah Kim, Lily Borofsky and Megan Garner.
Santa Barbara 805’s 18U B Team took silver in the Championship Division, falling against Sleepy Hollow Aquatics (SHAQ) of Marin County in the final, 12-8.
The 18U Bs beat Arroyo Grande, 10-8, in the semifinals behind the defense of Francesca Court and the goalkeeping of Natalie Requena-Broderick. The team won its quarterfinal game in a shootout against Davis.

Members of the 18U B Team are Natalie Requena-Broderick, Celia Young, Ivan Malenkovic Sophie McGhee, Kennedi Reeder, Dandara Sampaio, Anneke van Lynde, Estella Cornwall, Francesca Court, Abigail Kim, Maya Mouderres, Maxine Docker, Juliet Lazowski, Alina King, Veronica Mnatsakanian, Nicole O’Neill, Jenna Rippe and Bethany King.
In other championship division results, the 14U B and 16U B teams each placed 10th and the 18U A Team finished sixth.
Santa Barbara 805 club director Kelsie Karam said the two top-10 finishes in the 16s marked the first time since 2019 they’ve had two teams from the same age group place in the top-10 at the national championships.
