Authorities have released the name of the pedestrian who died after being struck by a vehicle in Santa Maria earlier this month.
The victim was Jisabel Correa Bobadilla, 84, of Santa Maria, according to Santa Maria Police Sgt. Shane Armstrong.
At approximately 5:35 p.m. on Dec. 3, officers with the Santa Maria Police Department responded to an incident involving a pedestrian struck by a vehicle at Orchard Street and North Broadway.
Officers located Bobadilla in the southbound lanes of Broadway.
Emergency personnel immediately rendered aid and transported him to Marian Regional Medical Center.
A short time later, the officers were informed that Bobadilla had died.
The driver involved, whose name was not released, remained at the scene and cooperated fully with officers, Armstrong added.
Police said preliminary findings indicated that neither alcohol nor drugs were contributing factors.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Moreno Mortuar, which listed the name as J. Isabel Correa Bobadilla, with private services planned in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.
