The 31st Annual Senior Expo of Santa Barbara, the area’s largest active-aging fair, will take place 9 a.m.-noon Wednesday, Oct. 2, at Earl Warren Showgrounds, the Family Service Agency (FSA) has announced. Deadline to participate as a sponsor is Aug. 1.

Sponsors and exhibitors will be able to engage more than 1,000 area seniors and caregivers with their services and companies, and network with more than 120 local businesses and organizations focused on the needs of seniors and caregivers in our community.

Businesses and organizations serving the growing number of caregivers and seniors in the community can learn more about the event and register to participate online at www.seniorexposb.com. Exhibit space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

“The Expo is the only event of its kind on the Central Coast,” said Lisa Brabo, FSA executive director. “Attendees receive great information on the plethora of resources available to them.

“With the support of our sponsors and exhibitors, and the help of more than 50 volunteers, we are really proud to be able to bring the Expo to Santa Barbara each year.”

At the Senior Expo, Sansum Clinic or Cottage Health, and a team of local nurse volunteers, provide free flu shots to area seniors age 55 and up. The Expo also offers free valet parking, live entertainment, a healthy snack, bone-density scans and other free health screenings for seniors.
