A fire damaged a single-family residence in the Goleta Valley on Saturday afternoon, according to Capt. Daniel Bertucelli of the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
Multiple personnel and equipment from the County Fire Department were dispatched around 4:45 p.m. to the house on the 5900 block of Cuesta Verde.
Crews arrived to find significant fire burning throughout the entire 2,000-square-foot single-story house, and began aggressively attacking the blaze, he added.
“There was heavy smoke and heavy fire coming from at least three sides of the structure upon the first arriving resources,” Bertucelli said.
The fire was knocked down after approximately 30 minutes.
No injuries were reported.
An investigator was at the scene working to determine the cause of the blaze, he added.
The damaged house is close to the Holiday Hill Road area of North Fairview Avenue that was hit hard by the Holiday Fire in July 2018, with 13 homes destroyed and another three damaged.
At approximately the same time firefighters responded to the Cuesta Verde structure fire, county crews in the North County were dispatched to a 5-acre vegetation fire off Tepusquet Road east of Santa Maria.
