The Dance with Harout Performance Company will virtually perform its 2021 show Fantasyland, March 20-April 4. Filmed at Center Stage Theater with full COVID-19 safety precautions, the show is directed and choreographed by Santa Barbara’s Harout Aristakessian.
In Fantasyland, the bridge between reality and fantasy becomes interchangeable. The 11 dances reflect the awareness of authentic-self fantasies, and go on to apply them to reality.
The individuality of each dancer, the lighting and costumes, and the message found in each performance are presented via the genres of hip hop, jazz funk, and burlesque. (The performance is suitable for mature audiences only.)
The video presentation debuts at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 20, in a livestream, followed by a post-performance chat with Harout and some of the dancers. The video will be available for on-demand viewing through April 4. Tickets for the video performance are available at the Center Stage Theater website.
