The California Highway Patrol put out a “be on lookout” notice for a white pickup truck that was reportedly involved in a bicyclist-vehicle accident on Modoc Road in Santa Barbara Tuesday morning.

Emergency crews responded to Modoc Road near Via Senda at 9:24 a.m. for a report of a vehicle that hit a cyclist.

The vehicle involved was a white pickup truck towing a black trailer, per emergency radio traffic.

The injured bicyclist was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, a CHP representative confirmed to Noozhawk.

A witness told a Noozhawk photographer on the scene that the vehicle was turning right and it ran over a cyclist’s leg.

The driver reportedly returned to the scene briefly before leaving again without giving their information, per the witness.

The CHP did not have additional information about the circumstances of the collision.
