Santa Barbara lost a piece of its history with the recent death of community activist and volunteer Lee Moldaver.

Moldaver died at 71, after a lifetime of public service.

In this podcast, Noozhawk reporter Josh Molina talks about Moldaver’s impact through his own words.

Moldaver was a regular public speaker at City Council meetings.

Molina presents three of Moldaver’s most memorable moments, from remembering the late Dr. Dan Secord, to advocating for the preservation of the Arroyo Burro Open Space, to acknowledging the works of outgoing City Council members.

The video begins with Moldaver doing one of the things he did best: quoting the classics.

In this moment, he quotes John F. Kennedy, “Victory has many fathers, but defeat is an orphan.”

Molina reported on Moldaver for more than 20 years and remembers him in the latest edition of “Santa Barbara Talks.”
