YouthWell will present Navigating Your Mental Health, a free virtual workshop, 4:30-6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9. Students ages 10-25, parents, teachers, and those working with youth will gain tools for navigating their mental health.

Attendees will learn to recognize the signs of a mental health challenge, understand the role of medication in treatment, understand the after-effects of the pandemic, understand why self-care matters and the importance of prioritizing early intervention, advocate for yourself and ask for help or support for a friend or your child, access resources and make telehealth work for you.

Workshop speakers include mental health experts from Westmont, Hospice of Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara City College, and Goleta Union School District.

YouthWell provides monthly Wellness Workshops for youth, parents, caregivers, and those working with young people, to eliminate stigma, open conversations about teen mental health and connect families to resources.

The Wellness Workshops are designed to empower parents and youth in Santa Barbara County with a strength-based approach providing tools that promote connection, wellness, and self-care to build resilience so all better equipped to cope with stress and challenging situations.
