Dr. Paul Aijian has announced the arrival of Dr. Alex Murdoch, D.O., to his medical practice at 200 N. La Cumbre Road, Ste B.
Dr. Murdoch was born and raised in Santa Barbara. He joined Boy Scouts, became an Eagle Scout, and was voted most valuable player on San Marcos High School Men’s Volleyball Team.
He was an award recipient of Santa Barbara Scholarship Foundation and went on Brigham Young University, where he was on the Dean’s List of Marriott School of Management.
Dr. Murdoch volunteers for Adopt-A-Grandparent and at Hillside House. He was vice president of Integrative Medicine Club at Midwestern University and graduated from there at Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine.
He did his family medicine residency at Community Memorial Health Systems in Ventura. Dr. Murdoch is trained in clinical family medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine, obstetrics, urgent care, emergency medicine, and osteopathy.
A primary care doctor, Dr. Murdoch and will focus on family medicine. He is now seeing patients ages 10 and older; and will be able to see patients with most insurance types, including Medicare, CenCal, PPOs and most HMOs.
Dr. Murdoch is a provider with the Santa Barbara Select Independent Physician Association.
In addition, Dr. Murdoch will be medical director at Mission Terrace rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility in Santa Barbara, which is recently under new ownership and management.
Drs. Murdoch and Aijian have a shared approach to medicine. Their values include availability to patients, making sure the patient understands what their issues are, and how they propose to manage them. They believe in assisting people with programs to avoid illnesses before they begin, and believe spiritual health is important to overall well-being. Both doctors speak Spanish.
