Santa Barbara’s Elings Park is open for the community to enjoy but closed to vehicles on Christmas Day.

The park’s third annual Car Free Christmas allows visitors entry through the neighborhood gates to enjoy a car-free experience from 7 a.m. to sunset on Sunday, Dec. 25.

The main gates off Las Positas and Cliff Drive which allow auto entry will remain closed for the day.

“Walkers, cyclists, runners, hikers, amblers, and our EP DOG off-leash dog members are welcome to explore all 230 acres of the park on Christmas Day,” said Executive Director Dean Noble.

“While you can’t quite put a bow on them, our Elings Park oaks groves and vistas are gifts that keep on giving.”

The Las Positas Tennis Courts close at 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve (Saturday, Dec. 24) and remain closed on Christmas Day.
