Santa Barbara’s Latinx cultures will be on display Sept. 15-Nov. 10 at the Arts Fund Gallery in La Cumbre Plaza, 120 S. Hope St., Ste. F119.

The exhibit, Nuanced Peoples: Exploring Latinx Identities, aims to explore the diversity within the label “Latinx” and show they are not a monolithic group, but a people of many emotions, professions, and skin colors.

The show’s artists include artists Cynthia Rodriguez, Jossilete Serrano, Rabbit.Print, Stefanie Rodriguez, and curator Jesús Balandrano Ramírez.

They come from similar cultural backgrounds, but within their own histories lay a plethora of unique stories to tell. Each artwork is a thread that makes up the fabric of Latinx identity, one that is always being expanded and rexamined.

The works collectively speak to the vastness of Latinx realities and the agency for making one’s future a possibility.

There will be an opening Arts Fund Art Walk, 5-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, and an artist talk, 5-6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10.
