Mendocino Farms officially announced that it will open its Santa Barbara location this summer.

About a year ago, Noozhawk reported that the sandwich and salad restaurant would be opening at 3851 State St., making it the first Santa Barbara County location. 

“For the opening of our 100th store, we’re excited to return to our roots in California and join the Santa Barbara community,” said Whitney Schwartz, senior marketing manager at Mendocino Farms.

The restaurant will open next to Chipotle in La Cumbre Plaza, and construction is already underway. 

Hot Topic Coming to Santa Maria Mall

Hot Topic, the pop-culture retail chain, is coming to the Santa Maria Town Center. 

While no opening date has been announced, residents have spotted promotional signs inside the mall, and the chain has posted job openings on LinkedIn.  

Kyle’s Kitchen Has New Location

Kyle’s Kitchen will be moving from Hollister Village Plaza to 6831 Hollister Ave., Suite D.

Noozhawk reported in January that the restaurant would be moving from 7000 Hollister Ave. to Storke Plaza near Target on the newly renovated side of the shopping center. 

The official address for the restaurant was revealed on Tuesday during the Goleta Design Review Board meeting. 

The restaurant is proposing adding a patio to its new location, which is why it went in front of the board. It received support for its plans. 

Kin Bakeshop Experiments with Extended Hours

For one day only, Kin Bakeshop, a Santa Barbara doughnut shop, will experiment with extended hours on Friday.

The Korean-inspired mochi donuts and drinks draw lines out the shop’s door at 199 S. Turnpike Road, Suite 103.

On Friday, the shop will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., a four-hour extension from its typical hours. 

“We will have the same drink menu as during the day, in hopes to also add some evening specials,” according to a statement.

Coyote’s Market Opens in Carpinteria

Coyote’s Market has officially opened its doors in Carpinteria. 

The market took over the space at 4945-A Carpinteria Ave., after Carp Kitchen closed in October.

Coyote’s Market supplies local meat and seafood, alongside pantry and kitchen goods.

Sandbar Cocina y Tequila Reopening Soon

Sandbar Cocina y Tequila is set to reopen with its luxury renovations in late spring, according to its social media.

The Mexican restaurant at 514 State St. in Santa Barbara has been temporarily closed for several months and has been teasing its opening day on its social media, originally scheduled for mid-March. 

It boasts that it will reopen as a luxury restaurant “that is next level.”
