YouthWell will hold a free facilitator training session 9-11 a.m. March 9 at the YouthWell office and will feature experienced facilitators Melissa Lowenstein, Rachael Steidl, and Kari O’Driscoll.

Designed to empower individuals who aspire to lead support groups, the training is open to associates, trainees, licensed therapists, and those with lived experiences.

During the training, speakers will guide attendees through the process of developing their unique facilitator style. Participants will learn to establish a consistent structure that fosters a safe, supportive space for group members, while creating opportunities for meaningful connections.

“We want to equip our facilitators with the skills and confidence needed to make a positive impact on the mental health and well-being of our community.” said Steidl, CEO at YouthWell. “This training is not just about becoming a facilitator but about becoming a facilitator who can truly empower and uplift group participants. ”

The training will cover essential aspects of facilitation, including empowering participants with practical tools, striking a balance between education and support, and cultivating skills for effective communication, active listening, and self-care.

For those interested in co-leading YouthWell support groups, the training offers a chance to connect with experienced leads and understand their individual approaches.
