After visiting more than 20 businesses participating in the annual Halloween Décor Contest, Downtown Santa Barbara’s décor committee selected the following winners.

1st Place: 33 Jewels, 814 State St., where owner Diane Garmendia’s underwater pirate-themed display impressed with intricate details, handmade elements, and jeweled accents.

2nd Place: A tie between the Red Piano, 519 State St. and the Wildcat Lounge, 15 W. Ortega St. Featuring cauldrons, a talking witch, and eerie severed heads, the displays delighted with their, animated designs.

3rd Place: Old Kings Road, 532 1/2 State St., was awarded for its creative and original display with lots of hands-on effort. The entry’s spooky details included myriad spiders, clowns and webs.

The top three contestants will receive a framed certificate and $50 gift cards to Eureka!, 601 Paseo Nuevo.

Runners-up:
4th Place (tie): The Blue Owl, 5 W. Canon Perdido St. and Whiskey Richards, 435 State St.
