The Santa Maria Public Library offers a variety of monthly book clubs for adults. Each meeting is held in the library’s Learning Loft, 421 S. McClelland St.

The following book club sessions include light refreshments and lively discussion.
- For fans of contemporary romance fiction, the Flirty Fiction Book Club will discuss “The Love Hypothesis” by Ali Hazelwood; 5:15 p.m., Monday, Feb. 10.
- Junk Journal Book Club meets at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15 to discuss “Demon Copperhead” by Barbara Kingsolver and continue creating junk journals.
- For discussion of literature focused on LGBTQIA+ authors, characters and themes, “Rainbow Reads Book Club” will talk about “One Last Stop” by Casey McQuiston; 4:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21.
- The Valley Reads will explore Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic “Kidnapped;” 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22.
- For fans of haunting horror, Novel Nightmares Book Club, “Rebecca” by Daphne Du Maurier is up for discussion; 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23.
