The city of Santa Maria and Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce are partnering to highlight different businesses in the city through a Businesses of the Quarter Program.
On four occasions during the year the program will recognize local businesses chosen by the chamber. The criteria are: approximately 20 employees; in operation for at least five years; physically located within the city limits; and being a local chamber of member in good standing.
“Not only does this give them valuable exposure, it also reminds the community of the unique, diverse, and long-standing businesses we are fortunate to have in Santa Maria,” the chamber said.
The businesses recognize for the first quarter (January to March 2025) are:
The Garden Mediterranean Restaurant & Cafe, 122 E. Boone St. Owner Reda Kchik opened the restaurant in 2017 and presently has 17 employees.
Patrons can enjoy dining indoors or outside on the heated and covered patio. The business supports the hospital and the Police Department with food donations.
Xtreme Electronics, 614 W. Main St. Owner Roger Galvan said he opened the business in September 2001 with $1,000 and a dream to serve Santa Maria with the largest selection in car audio.
Xtreme Electronics supports the area’s car culture, participates in and supports local events including Open Streets, and has donated to the Police Department.
Businesses are chosen by the Santa Maria Valley Chamber. To nominate a business or ask about the program, email Molly Alves, the chamber’s vice president of Operations & Membership, at molly@santamaria.com or call 805-925-2403.
