The American Scandinavian Foundation of Santa Barbara hosted a Christmas dinner and auction Dec. 6 at Lions Park in Carpinteria, bringing together the community in a spirit of joy and generosity, the organization said.

The evening was highlighted by a St. Lucia procession, with Alia Matthews as this year’s St. Lucia, accompanied by other children who assisted her in the holiday tradition.

“Guests were treated to a delightful dinner, with laughter and camaraderie echoing throughout the park,” the foundation said. “The highlight of the night was our spirited auction, where generous bids went toward scholarships for deserving students, ensuring a brighter future for our youth.”

The festive atmosphere was enhanced by an appearance by Santa Claus (Paul Wright) to the delight of children and adults alike. The children’s choir entertained with Scandinavian music.

“A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who attended, contributed, and supported this event,” event organizers said. “Your participation made it a resounding success, and we look forward to continuing our mission of supporting education and community through these wonderful gatherings.”
