Santa Barbara residents joined the fight against cancer on May 2 by participating in the annual Relay for Life of Santa Barbara held at Bishop Garcia Diego High School.

The overnight event raised funds for the American Cancer Society’s research programs, community education, patient programs, as well as spread awareness of cancer prevention and to celebrate survivorship.

Bishop Garcia students held a campus “Race for Change” and gathered $608.27 in pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters to support Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society’s mission to end the disease.
