The Santa Barbara County Coroner’s Bureau identified 66-year old Santa Barbara man David Wayne Neal as the person discovered deceased at Alameda Park on Friday. 

The Santa Barbara Police department responded to a report of an unresponsive person on the ground near a bench at the park around 10 a.m. Friday, along with fire and paramedic crews. 

When they arrived at the scene at 1400 Santa Barbara St., responders discovered the man did not have a pulse, police said. 

Responders attempted lifesaving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Police said at the time there were no indications of foul play. 

Santa Barbara County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office spokesperson said Neal was a transient and resided in Santa Barbara.
