Blind Fitness, a Santa Barbara-based nonprofit that supports individuals who are blind or have low vision, is partnering with Santa Barbara Improv to present a Blind Fitness Intro to Improv Workshop on Friday, March 27 at Unitarian Society of Santa Barbara.
The interactive workshop invites blind and low-vision participants, sighted guides, and community members to explore creativity, connection, and self-expression through accessible improv games and exercises. No prior improv or acting experience is required.
Led by instructor Kimberly Herriman, Psy.D., from Santa Barbara Improv, the workshop emphasizes collaboration, communication and presence in a welcoming and inclusive environment, organizers said.
Participants will engage in playful, adaptive activities that build confidence, foster trust, and strengthen community.
“Improv is a powerful tool for connection and confidence,” said Tania Isaac-Dutton, executive director of Blind Fitness. “This collaboration creates a space where participants can show up authentically, explore creative expression, and experience movement and voice in a safe and inclusive space.”
