The Santa Maria Philharmonic will bring its concert season to a close with the celebrated music of Johannes Brahms and Samuel Barber, curated by Maestro Michael Nowak, and featuring guest soloist Gilles Apap, 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 25 at Grace Baptist Church, 605 E McCoy Lane, Santa Maria.
“Apap is a renowned French classical violinist. In 1985, he secured first place in the
contemporary music division at the Yehudi Menuhin Competition and has since enjoyed a
successful career as a soloist with orchestras globally,” event organizers said. “We are thrilled to be able to present this level of skill and talent to our community.”
To support its mission of “making fine music available in Santa Maria,” the Santa Maria Philharmonic invites the community to annual gala, Sips for Strings, 6 p.m. Friday, May 1 at Presqu’ile Winery.
“We are looking forward to raising funds necessary to continue creating fine music experiences, whilst under the stars, enjoying beautiful music with our friends, old and new.”
Tickets for both events are available at https://smphilharmonic.org/.
