San Marcos High School and head baseball coach Richard Schroeder have “parted ways,” according to the school.

Schroeder recently finished his first year at the helm of the Royals’ baseball program. The school is searching for a new head coach.

San Marcos had a successful season under Schroeder, earning a co-Channel League championship and reaching the CIF-SS Division 4 playoffs.

“We thank Coach Schroeder for his service and for leading the team to a league title,” San Marcos principal Dare Holdren said. “Following a comprehensive review of the program, we’ve decided to move in a different direction. We wish him the best moving forward.”

Those interested in the position of San Marcos head baseball coach can contact athletic director Aaron Solis at asolis@sbunified.org. Resumes will be accepted until Sunday, June 7 and interviews will take place on Thursday, June 11.
