Authorities have released the name of the driver killed when a Toyota Camry went 200 feet down an embankment Friday afternoon east of Santa Maria.

Kimery Lynn Huerta, 66, of Utah died in the single-vehicle crash, according to Raquel Zick, public information officer for the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office Coroner’s Bureau.

At approximately 5:15 p.m., emergency personnel from multiple agencies responded to the scene on Highway 166, near Willow Spring Trail and 28 miles east of Highway 101.

U.S. Forest Service employees reported that the gray Toyota Camry had left the roadway.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Highway 166 was reduced to one lane in the area for a time Friday night while emergency personnel were at the scene.
