Explore Ecology is offering an embroidery workshop where participants will learn foundational stitches and use them to create a miniature scene, framed in a wooden brooch, 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15 at the EE Makerspace, 302 E. Cota St, Santa Barbara.

Particpants in the beginner-friendly workshop will be introduced to techniques they can use in their own creations, and take home an embroidery hoop and thread to keep the creativity going.

No experience needed; the workshop is for those ages 13 and older. All tools and materials are provided.

Cost is $45 for general admission; $40 for students and educators. Register here.

As an option, participants can arrive at 5:30 p.m. for a pre-workshop offer: a free bucket of bulk materials and 50% off all non-bulk items at Art From Scrap.
