YouthWell will host the 2nd Annual Stronger Together for Neurodiverse Youth conference, an in-person gathering for parents, caregivers, providers and educators, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2 at Direct Relief in Santa Barbara.
The event is sponsored by Fusion Academy Santa Barbara.
The event has one goal, organizers said: Helping the adults in a young person’s life work together to create inclusive schools, thriving communities, and a culture where every mind belongs.
Participants will gain practical, neuro-affirming strategies they can use at home and in the classroom.
“I came away with the mindset that I need to be more open when working with neurodiverse students and people,” a former attendee said. “I really appreciated the student panel and the speaker who emphasized a focus on the beauty of neurodiversity and how, really, it is my responsibility to find a way to meet the needs of the student instead of their responsibility to try to fit in.”
Featured presenters are:
Ty Vernon, director of UCSB Koegel Autism Center and associate professor of clinical psychology
Katherine Olson, licensed clinical psychologist, Pathological Demand Avoidance.
Jocelyn Levitan, assistant clinical director for UCSB Counseling & Psychological Services
Kara Rocque, ADHD+/Executive Function/Twice Exceptional Coach
Jane Gama, head of school at Fusion Academy
The 2026 conference builds on YouthWell’s first neurodiversity conference from November 2025 and the year-long virtual workshop series that followed.
“Based on attendee feedback, this year dives deeper into specific topics, offers longer table discussions, and grants more time to strategize tool implementation,” organizers said.
Registration is required, and space is limited. Register at YouthWell.org/workshops.
