Urbane Café will celebrate its Goleta location with a grand opening and free sandwiches for the first 50 customers.
The California-based restaurant will open its 46th location, located at 7000 Hollister Ave., Suite 102, on Monday.
The grand opening will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. The store will officially open at 10:30 a.m., and the first 50 customers in line will receive one sandwich per month for up to a year.
Urbane Café is known for sandwiches made with its own bread, fresh salads, and pastries. Founder Tom Holt started the restaurant in Ventura in 2003.
“We love the Central Coast and are excited to bring our scratch-made menu to Goleta,” Holt said in a press release. “The Santa Barbara community has been inquiring about a location for a long time — and we are thrilled that we are able to officially be a part of their amazing community. Their enthusiasm means a lot to us, and we look forward to serving them for years to come.”
The store will be open Monday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Sundays from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Beyond its first-day celebrations, Urbane Café has announced two more events for local residents.

The first will be a Student Giveback Day next Wednesday, where students who sign up beforehand can receive a complimentary sandwich, salad or bowl with a promotional code and valid student ID at pickup.
On Nov. 4, the restaurant will host a Teacher Giveback Day. Teachers and school staff can receive a free sandwich, salad or bowl by registering for a promotional code and placing an online order.
The company said it plans to open six new locations in Southern California in 2027.
UCSB Students Offer a Helping Hand
A service created by a group of UC Santa Barbara students is providing help for everything from technology, household tasks, car services and errands.
The service, called Student Bees, lets residents pay UCSB students by the hour to help them with their everyday tasks.
Student Bees was founded by three students at the university: Koa Papandrew, Samai Dhaliwal and Zane Pinedo. The students developed the service through UCSB’s New Venture Program and officially began in February.
Residents interested in hiring a Student Bee can call or text 805.730.0182 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. any day of the week. They can also be emailed at studentbeesbusiness@gmail.com.
