The Santa Barbara Humane Society held its annual Open House on Sunday to kick off Be Kind to Animals Week.
Organization members and visitors were treated to a day of family fun, including a magic show by Mark Collier.
Other activities included music, dog agility runs, a search demonstration by a sheriff’s dog, and a clinic for pets to receive low-cost vaccinations.
The Santa Barbara Humane Society, 5399 Overpass Road, is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The American Humane Association created Be Kind to Animals Week in 1915 to celebrate the bond between humans and animals.
