Starting Monday, Oct. 12, Carpinteria Valley Water District (CVWD) will be installing part of a purified water conveyance pipeline on Carpinteria Avenue, 8:30 p.m.-6:30 a.m.

The pipeline installation on Carpinteria Avenue will extend from Maple Avenue to Eugenia Place.

Construction is scheduled during the evening to minimize the traffic impacts to the community, CVWD officials said. The work is expected to span four nights, concluding before 6:30 a.m.Friday, Oct. 16.

On Monday, Oct. 19 work will resume on Carpinteria Avenue during normal business hours to complete paving after the pipeline installation, officials said. This work is expected to take one-two days.

Once the Carpinteria Avenue segment has been completed, work will begin on Eugenia Place during normal business hours, CVWD said

Pipeline installation is part of the Carpinteria Advanced Purification Project (CAPP).

Once CAPP is complete, purified water produced at the new Advanced Water Purification Facility, now under construction at the existing Carpinteria Sanitary District Wastewater Treatment Plant, will be transported via the new pipeline to injection wells.

Those wells will inject purified water into our groundwater basin. From there, it becomes a drought‑proof reserve that strengthens Carpinteria’s long‑term water reliability, according to CVWD.
