AIA Santa Barbara (AIASB) conducted Design Charrette 2020, which focused on Santa Barbara’s central business district and the State Street Corridor. Some 160 people participated, and the results were presented to City Council.

To further that effort, AIASB’s June 10 general meeting, noon-1:15 p.m., will host a virtual roundtable discussion with a panel of community leaders on the topic of housing, new neighborhoods, and the future of the city’s downtown.

The panel will include Jessica Metzger, project planner, city of Santa Barbara; Robin Elander, executive director, Downtown Organization; Peter Lewis, developer; Rob Fredericks, executive director, Housing Authority of the City of Santa Barbara; Anthony Grumbine, chair of Santa Barbara Historic Landmarks Commission; and Alice Amspoker, representing the public neighborhood elementary school and replacement of the old Lincoln School.
