Santa Barbara High outside hitter Alex Rottman was named to the All CIF-Southern Section Division 1 boys volleyball team, leading a crew of six local players receiving the honor in different divisions.
Rottman, who has signed to play with Stanford next year, led the Dons to a share of the Channel League title with San Marcos, both finishing 7-1.
San Marcos’ senior Aidan Pazier, a powerhouse in the middle, was named the All-CIF-SS Division 2 team.
In Division 3, Laguna Blanca senior setter Jack Shiebler and Dos Pueblos junior setter/opposite were both named to the Division 3 team. The Owls made it to the D3 semifinals in the playoffs while the Chargers made it to the quarterfinals.
Two Carpinteria players, senior outside hitters Joaquin Gonzalez and Diesel Slade, were named to the All-CIF-SS Division 5 team.
The Warriors were the Division 5 runners-up, losing to Sunny Hills in Carpinteria’s first-ever appearance in the CIF finals. The Warriors then lost to Division 2 powerhouse San Diego-Madison in the first round of the State Regional tournament in a five-set thriller.
