Alicia Rocha Muñoz

Alicia Rocha Muñoz, 72, died unexpectedly on July 23, 2019, at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.

Alicia was born in Tototlán, Jalisco, México, on May 23, 1947. She was one of six siblings. While she lived in Santa Barbara for numerous years, Alicia was a resident of the Ventura County for the past nine years.

Alicia enjoyed gardening and was an amazing cook. She was very active and liked to have everything clean. She was very direct, cursed often, and wasn’t shy about giving her opinions and telling you things she didn’t like. Alicia would help others without expecting anything in return.

She loved to dress well and look good, getting her hair and make-up done even though she wasn’t going out.

Alicia is survived by her husband of 33 years Francisco Rocha; daughter Cynthia Esperanza Rocha; granddaughter Adriana; brother Luis Muñoz; sister Irma Sepulveda; and father Jesús Muñoz, 96 years of age.

“My mother was my right hand, my world, my rock, my motor … without her I feel weak. She’s truly going to be missed. God took the best woman, ever,” Cynthia said.

Rosary service was held July 30, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Santa Barbara. Funeral mass was July 31, followed by interment at Santa Barbara Cemetery.

Arrangements entrusted to Pueblo de Rey Funeral Services.
