The Allan Hancock College Foundation will host the annual student scholarship awards event, 6:30-7:30 p.m. May 21 from the Joe White Memorial Gymnasium at the Santa Maria campus.
This year, a total of 578 scholarships will be awarded to 409 Hancock students worth $725,000, the most awarded in the foundation’s 49-year history.
At the event, Hancock scholarship recipients can meet scholarship donors and celebrate the achievements of these inspiring 2026 graduates.
The foundation will also announce the recipient of the $10,000 Marian Hancock Scholarship.
Named in honor of the late wife of Captain G. Allan Hancock, the scholarship is awarded to one outstanding student each year who exemplifies service to the college, scholastic achievement and personal conduct.
A scholarship committee comprised of Hancock faculty, staff and Foundation Board members chose this year’s scholarship recipients.
Scholarship recipients do not know the specific scholarship or dollar amount awarded until they meet the donor at the event.
