The American Cancer Society will present the 2023 Santa Barbara Riviera Gala called Where Hope Grows, Nov. 17 at the Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara.
This event is dedicated to supporting the society’s mission “to end cancer as we know it, for everyone.” The gala runs 6-10 p.m. with doors opening at 5:30 p.m.
Those attending will enjoy live entertainment, live and silent auctions, and a fine dining experience.
Each ticket purchased or sponsorship package secured for this gala contributes to the American Cancer Society’s efforts in funding groundbreaking research, patient care services, and advocacy initiatives for cancer patients and their families on the Central Coast.
Corey Pahanish, executive director of the Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation, a recipient of American Cancer Society grants, expressed gratitude for the partnership:
“As a result of our partnership and a generous grant from American Cancer Society, families who otherwise might have canceled a doctor’s appointment for their child battling cancer due to a lack of gas money and/or the funds required for lodging at their out-of-area treatment center are now able to make sure that their child is receiving life-saving medical treatment,” he said.
This year’s gala will also feature the 2023 Distinguished Medical Honoree award, presented to Dr. Julian R. Davis by the American Cancer Society. The recognition celebrates Dr. Davis’ exceptional contributions to the field of oncology and his dedication to the fight against cancer.
