My son, my baby boy. Anthony Michael Bisquera Hartley was born Jan. 5, 1995 at St. Francis Hospital in Santa Barbara and was blessed by the nuns right after his birth.
Anthony spent his whole life in Santa Barbara and attended the local schools. My son loved to read, draw, paint, sketch, watch horror/thriller movies, and dress up in scary costumes for Halloween.
Anthony’s greatest gift in life are his three children Kaleb, Kayden and Arabella. He spent all of his time with his babies.
I’m so proud of the father he came to be. He spent his time loving them and building Legos. He loved to draw with Kaleb. He was a jungle gym for Kayden who loved using Anthony’s head as bongos. His baby girl Bella had Anthony wrapped around her finger.
Anthony is survived by his mother Karen Bisquera, who lovingly raised him with his siblings Alysia Dominguez Bisquera, Monique LaMarca (Mathew), David Bisquera Hartley, and Justine Hernandez; his three children Kaleb, Kayden and Arabella; nephews Jesiah, Evan, Lyric, Dominic, Eros and Bentley; grandparents Rosemary and Roosevelt Bisquera; his Bisquera, Velez and Sierra cousins; his mentor Arno Jafë; and many, many friends and family.
A Rosary Vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday Aug. 21. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday Aug. 22 at St. Rafael’s Catholic Church, 5444 Hollister Ave., Santa Barbara, with graveside service following at Goleta Cemetery, 44 S. San Antonio Road, Santa Barbara.
Please feel free to wear t-shirt and jeans to the rosary service to honor Anthony. We are asking attendees to wear dark blue or black attire for the mass and burial services.
