The city of Santa Barbara is soliciting proposals from eligible applicants for its Fiscal Years 2026 and 2027 Human Services Grant Funding and Fiscal Year 2026 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Programs. 
 
Approximately $1.6 million are available in Human Services and CDBG grants to support local nonprofit organizations that provide social services to individuals or families, or to support community development activities such as rehabilitation, infrastructure improvements, or economic development, all benefitting low and moderate-income Santa Barbara city residents.
 
To submit an application, a representative of each potential applicant organization is required to attend a mandatory Application Workshop from start to finish. Attendees must be staff who are directly involved in preparing grant submissions.

The mandatory Application Workshop for Public Service/Human Service/Economic Development will be at 10 a.m. Nov. 14 in the David Gebhard Meeting Room, 630 Garden St.
 
The Mandatory CDBG Capital Application Workshop will be at 11 a.m. Nov. 14 in the David Gebhard Meeting Room, 630 Garden St.

The city is using an online-only application that can be accessed starting Nov. 12 at Human Services and CDBG Funding Application – SantaBarbaraCA.gov/CDBGApplication.

Applications must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. Dec. 12, no exceptions.

It is the applicant’s responsibility to review the application for completeness and submit online on or before the deadline. Incomplete applications will not be accepted, and acceptance of the application does not guarantee funding.
