ASAP Cats shelter will hold its monthly adoption event, a yard sale and free microchip clinic, Saturday, Sept. 27 at 5473 Overpass Road, Santa Barbara.
The adoption event will be 10 a.m.-3 p.m. The yard sale and free microchipping clinic will be 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
For people not yet ready to adopt, fostering options are available and are a good way to form a connection while giving ASAP’s cats a break from shelter life.
ASAP matchmakers will have all the adoption/fostering details at the event.
The yard sale will be filled with treasures and trinkets including:
• New and gently used glassware
• Tools, screws, and garage products
• Travel items
• Furniture and antiques
• Plenty of cat (and dog) toys and items
The free microchipping clinic offers a resource to local pet families looking to protect their cat.
Microchipping is a quick and painless way to ensure pets are identifiable in case of emergency, ASAP said.
Storing key information, including the name and phone number of the pet’s owner and medical information, microchips provide a safety net for both pets and pet families.
When a stray cat is brought into the ASAP Cats shelter, one of the first checks done as part of the intake process is scanning for a microchip.
