“Jagged Little Pill,” won two Tony Awards, two Drama Desk Awards, eight Outer Critics Circle Awards, and a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album.
With a book by Academy Award-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody (“Juno,” “Jennifer’s Body,” “Lisa Frankenstein”), and music by Alanis Morissette and Glen Ballard, “Jagged Little Pill” was inspired by the themes and emotions laid bare in Morissette’s album of the same name.
In the story, the Healys appear to be a picture-perfect suburban family — but looks can be deceiving. When the cracks beneath the surface begin to show, they must choose between maintaining the status quo or facing harsh truths about themselves, their community, and the world around them.
The musical features new arrangements of familiar songs such as “Ironic,” “Hand in My Pocket,” “Uninvited,” and “You Learn.”
