Authorities have released the name of the man who jumped to his death Sunday from the Cold Spring Canyon Arch Bridge on Highway 154 in the Santa Ynez Valley.
The deceased was identified as Jiaxi Ma, 20, of Irvine, Raquel Zick, public information officer for the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office, told Noozhawk on Monday.
Santa Barbara County firefighters, sheriff’s deputies, and other emergency personnel responded shortly after 11 a.m. Sunday to Stagecoach Road, below the bridge, where they found Ma dead on the roadway.
A short time earlier, the California Highway Patrol reportedly received a report of a man on the bridge, and responded to the scene.
