Authorities on Monday released the name of the pedestrian killed over the weekend when she was struck by a vehicle in Western Goleta.

The victim was Jennifer Lynn Bradshaw, 42, of Goleta, according to Raquel Zick, public information officer for the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s deputies and other emergency personnel responded shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday to a report of a single-vehicle crash on the 7300 block of Calle Real, near the 7-Eleven store.

Jeselyn Invina, 68, of Goleta told deputies she was westbound on Calle Real when she looked away from the road due to bright headlights from an oncoming eastbound vehicle, Zick said.

Invina’s vehicle veered to the right, left the roadway, and came to rest in a nearby field.

Deputies investigating the crash found Bradshaw off the roadway about 300 feet from where the vehicle came to rest, Zick said.

Emergency personnel rendered aid, but Bradshaw was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The preliminary investigation indicates that Invina was unaware she had struck a pedestrian until deputies informed her at the scene,” Zick said on Sunday.

The sheriff’s Major Accident Response Team is continuing to investigate the incident. At this time, drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the collision, Zick said.

A GoFundMe account has been set up to help with funeral and other expenses. As of Wednesday morning, it had raised $10,182 of a $28,000 goal.
