Authorities have released the name of the person who was killed on Saturday in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 154.

The driver of one of the vehicles who died in the crash is Robert Michaelius Brown, 22, from South Jacksonville, Florida, according to spokeswoman Raquel Zick of Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office.

The California Highway Patrol determined that Brown drove his vehicle across the double-yellow lines into the path of a oncoming vehicle on the highway.

After the collision, Brown was declared dead at the scene and five people in the other vehicle were transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital with injuries, the CHP said.

CHP has not yet determined if alcohol or drugs were involved or what caused the crash, according to Officer Michael Fabila with California Highway Patrol.

The collision remains under investigation by CHP.
