Ava Stryker powered in six goals and drew three ejections to lead a balanced San Marcos girls water polo team to a 19-13 win over CIF-San Diego Section power The Bishop’s School of La Jolla at the Newport Elite Eight Tournament on Thursday at Newport Harbor High.
Sophia Panossian had a big game with four goals and a drawn ejection, and Charlotte Raisin was a force at both ends of the pool with four steals, a block, three assists, two goals and a drawn ejection.
Reagan McEachen scored three goals and earned two ejections in the set position.
“We played well today. It was definitely a team effort,” said coach Chuckie Roth.
Goalie Lauren Schweitzer made six saves for the Royals.
“We had good energy and played a good game,” said Roth.
San Marcos is back in action Friday morning against Oaks Christian at Newport Harbor.
