Avery Ball scored on a drive 90 seconds into overtime to give Dos Pueblos a 10-9 sudden-death win over Channel League rival Cate in a nip-and-tuck match Wednesday.

The Chargers’ Autumn Litten tied the game with 56 seconds left in regulation to send the game into overtime. Ball and Litten led Dos Pueblos with three goals each.

Lily Zanze led the Rams with six goals and an assist, and Josie Erikson had two goals. Liz Sutter had 10 saves in the net.

“The girls know this is our toughest game each year and we went out hard and determined,” Dos Pueblos co-coach Sam Limkeman said. “It was a well fought game on both sides, and every year it is a joy to play Cate. It’s enjoyable to watch the girls go out and earn a win they really had to fight for.”

Dos Pueblos is now 3-0 in league play and 7-1 overall.

“We played really well and I am incredibly proud of the team,” Cate coach Renee Mack said. “Everyone played with heart and focus.”
