San Marcos girls lacrosse dominated the first quarter and never looked back en route to a 16-6 non-league win over Hart on Thursday at Warkentin Stadium.
The Royals (2-0) had 11 different players score a goal while 14 of the team’s 16 goals came off of assists.
“We were really close to 100% of our goals assisted and what we’re aiming for in that strategy will be our dodgers seeing their teammate and the teammates knowing if they move without the ball and get open they can be involved at any time,” San Marcos head coach Paul Ramsey said.
The Royals opened up the game with five unanswered goals and maintained control of the game throughout the first quarter, building up an 8-2 lead by the second.
From there, San Marcos continued to move the ball well offensively and hold Hart in check on the defensive end to come away with the win.
Gigi Mills led all scorers with four goals to go along with two assists while Sadi Adams and Victoria Aldana collected one goal and three assists apiece.
Defensively, Carly Grant started at goalie and ended the day with four saves.
The Royals will take on Calabasas on the road on Friday at 6 p.m.
