Santa Ynez’s Kylee Johnson and Riley Vannasap both had two hits and Aleena Madrid scored three runs to boost the Pirates to a 13-7 win over Santa Barbara in Channel League play Wednesday.

While the Pirate offense was pulling away, relief pitcher McKinnzie Grossini shut down the Dons over the last four innings, giving up one hit and no runs.

Sydney Gills hit a double for Santa Ynez.

“The Pirates really worked together today,” Santa Ynez coach Ashlee Madrid said.
