Eleni Becker and Lia Papador joined forces for the first time and pulled out a three-set win, helping Dos Pueblos defeat Santa Ynez, 4-1, in a non-league girls beach volleyball match on Tuesday at Solvang’s Sunny Fields Park.
“Eleni and Lia found their footing as a new partnership and battled a tough Santa Ynez team to take it in three,” said coach Nate Holmes of his No. 4 duo. “They really improved their offensive consistency, and it was crucial today.”
Morgan Collins/Addie Madrid picked up the lone win for Santa Ynez at the 5s, beating Katie Sitolini/Elasyouty, 21-15, 21-16.
“Unfortunately, we struggled to stay in system against a consistent DP squad,” said Santa Ynez coach Melissa Rogers. “On a high note, our 5’s team of Morgan Collins and Addie Madrid won in straight sets after making some key adjustments in their first game.”
