San Marcos went 1-1 on the first day of the Simi Valley Manlet Softball Tournament on Saturday

The Royals beat Sierra Canyon 3-2 in six innings and lost to Banning 5-2.

Freshman Bella Cruz was 2 for 3 with two RBI, including a walk-off RBI single to win the game.

Cassandra Perez had a key RBI double to tie the game in the bottom of the 6th inning.. The game was shortened to 6 innings due to the tournament time limit.

Allie Fryklund went the distance against Sierra Canyon, allowing one earned run on three hits and on walk while striking out five.  strikeouts 

Against Banning, the Royals were ahead 2-0 when two errors led to all five runs for Banning.

Gigi Gritt took the loss, but was 2 for 3 hitting in the game. Kyla Robbins also went 2 for 3 with a two-run double in the third inning.  

San Marcos is now 2-3 on the season.
