Dos Pueblos carried its red-hot offense into the CIF-SS softball playoffs and rolled to a 12-1 five-inning victory over visiting Lancaster in a Division 4 first-round game on Thursday.

Bella Nuño paced a 12-hit attack with a 4-for-4 performance that included a double off the fence and her eighth home run of the season, a two-run shot over the center field fence. She had four RBI.

Jessica Reveles was 2-3 with a RBI and Leila Chisholm had two RBI on the day. The Chargers scored in every inning.

The potent offense backed a solid pitching performance from Georgia Wilson. She allowed two hits,  struck out five and didn’t allow a walk.

The Chargers’ defense also got into the act.  Shortstop Jessica Reveles and second baseman Lacy Spear completed a 6-4-3 double play to end the first inning.

“This was a great team win today,” said DP coach Mike Gerken. “The girls are so in tune with each other. It’s fun to see. The defense set the tone with the double play in the first inning and we took that momentum into our half and put up three runs.

“Bella Nuño is putting on one of the best hitting displays I’ve seen. She hits the ball with power wherever it is pitched. Jessica Reveles made a number of outstanding plays at short, getting outs with off-balance throws. Riley Monroe called a great game behind the plate and Georgia Wilson executed to perfection.”

Dos Pueblos (22-5) plays at Burbank-Burroughs in the second round on Tuesday.
